Lecture "Short Film Toolkit: Strategy, Visibility, Career"

The film industry is becoming increasingly homogeneous, and festival strategies, visual identities, and career paths are often measured against a single template. This lecture will offer practical tools for breaking out of these frameworks – from developing an effective festival strategy and preparing a logline to building a personal professional identity and pursuing a career outside the industry's mainstream.

The lecture will be led by Anna Huth, Poland

Anna Huth is creator of the film:lab training program for emerging filmmakers, developer of the digital platform team4set, and a member of the European Film Academy, who collaborates with institutions and companies such as Netflix, Platige Image, and Creative Europe MEDIA.

film:lab is a series of professional training programs designed for various roles within directing and cinematography departments. It responds to the growing demand for skilled film crew members by offering hands-on workshops outside traditional academic settings. With small groups of up to ten participants, the program ensures focused, practical learning in real film set conditions using professional equipment. Its flexible structure allows the courses to quickly adapt to industry needs, helping participants develop new skills or retrain for in-demand positions in the film industry.

The lecture will be held in English on Monday, April 13, at 15:30 at Kaņepes Culture Centre.

Admission to the event is free of charge and open to all.

2ANNAS Forum is organized with the support of the National Film Centre, Riga City Council and the State Culture Capital Foundation
